The rules will only apply to trade between the bloc&#8217;s member countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the new rules facilitating intra-bloc trade, there is an end to the obligation to issue a Certificate of Origin for products exported between the member countries, which makes the procedures faster and less bureaucratic, including for the release of goods, since the customs of the importing countries will be able to make simple inquiries directly to the producers or exporters, without the need to open a formal origin investigation procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another change refers to the maximum percentage of foreign components that a product can have in order to be considered as originating from a Mercosur country. This percentage will rise from 40% to 45% as of July 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will also be the possibility of exporting a Brazilian product from a bonded warehouse in a third country, facilitating logistics and consequently reducing costs for exporting companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new rules can be found in the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/siscomex\/pt-br\/acordos-comerciais\/MANUALNOVOROM1.pdf\">Manual do Novo Regime de Origem do Mercosul<\/a>\u201d(Mercosur New Rules of Origin Manual).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With them, procedures will be faster and less bureaucratic As reported in our Legal Bulletin Number 834 of June 26, 2024, Mercosur&#8217;s Rules of Origin will change as of July 18.
